Common Dental Emergencies

We treat a wide range of urgent dental problems with prompt, expert care

Severe Tooth Pain

Intense, persistent tooth pain can indicate serious infection or damage that requires immediate attention.

Immediate care: Rinse with warm salt water, take over-the-counter pain relief, apply cold compress

Broken or Chipped Tooth

Trauma from accidents, sports, or biting hard objects can fracture teeth, causing pain and exposure.

Immediate care: Save any fragments, rinse mouth, cover sharp edges with dental wax

Lost Filling or Crown

When restorations come loose, the exposed tooth can be sensitive and vulnerable to further damage.

Immediate care: Keep restoration if found, use temporary dental cement or dental wax to cover

Knocked-Out Tooth

Complete tooth avulsion is a true emergency requiring immediate treatment for the best chance of saving the tooth.

Immediate care: Handle by crown only, rinse gently with water only, place back in socket (if adult tooth) or keep moist in milk or saliva

Dental Abscess

Bacterial infection causing swelling, pain, and potentially serious complications if left untreated.

Immediate care: Rinse with salt water, do not apply heat, seek immediate professional care

Soft Tissue Injury

Cuts, lacerations, or trauma to lips, gums, tongue, or cheeks.

Immediate care: Apply direct pressure to stop bleeding, rinse with cold water
